Pathway Fit
Does the civil service fit how you would actually live it?
About fifteen minutes on the interests, temperament and values the civil service asks for, what to strengthen, and where the field is wide, which route leans your way.
It shows fit to the profession. It does not predict the UPSC examination, a rank, or admission.
What this life asks of you
Years of preparation, then a life of transfers, rules, and decisions that reach people you will never meet.
What we look at
- Interests. The pull toward this kind of work, tested against realistic alternatives.
- Temperament. How you handle the pressure, the people and the detail this field brings every week.
- Values. Impact, security, recognition, relationships: what you would trade for what.
Inside the field
Administrative, police, foreign and revenue services are shown separately.
Inside the report
- Fit to the civil service overall, with how sure we are
- Route by route fit, on the wide fields
- What to strengthen, and what already carries you
- What a first year actually feels like
- A copy for your parents
For parents
Under 18, they need your consent to start, and you receive your own copy with the answers behind each result and a page on reading it together. A low fit is a conversation, never a verdict.
What parents receiveQuestions people ask before starting
Will this tell me if I will get in?
It shows how well the path fits how you like to work, and says nothing about any exam or admission.
What if the fit is low?
The report says what would need to strengthen, and where a nearby field fits better. Plenty of people read a low fit and go anyway, with their eyes open.
I am torn between two pathways.
Take both, or take Career Discovery, which ranks every field at once.
Can I take it more than once?
Yes. You change, and each run is dated.
